Statement of Beliefs
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth, Son of God, son of Mary, foster child of Joseph, is the “Christ”.
We believe in the Holy Trinity; One God, Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the three historic creeds: Nicene; Apostles; Athanasian.
We believe in the "four marks" of the Universal Church: One; Holy; Catholic; Apostolic.
We believe in the inerrancy and divine inspiration of Holy Scripture; and that Holy Scripture is not open to personal interpretation, but must be read, understood, and lived, literally.
We believe in the Seven Sacraments of the Church: Baptism; Confirmation; Holy Eucharist; Holy Matrimony; Confession, Absolution, and Reconciliation; Anointing of the Sick and Dying; Holy Orders.
We believe in the “Real Presence” of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist; Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
We believe in “Open Communion” and therefore offer Holy Communion to all Baptized Christians.
We believe in “General Absolution” and offer this Sacrament at Holy Mass during the Penitential Rite.
We believe and accept the doctrines of the Seven Early Church Ecumenical Councils.
We believe and appreciate the wisdom and guidance of the Early Church Fathers.
We believe that the five Ancient Apostolic Patriarchies (Jerusalem; Antioch; Alexandria; Rome; Constantinople) are the foundations of the Church, and that each current Patriarch deserves the authority and respect due his Office.
We believe and hold “Valid Apostolic Succession” for our Bishops, Priests, and Deacons.
We believe that Holy Orders are open to heterosexual men only, married or single. We do not accept homosexual men.
We believe in the sanctity of Marriage. However, we believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is merciful, and therefore, those who have been previously married and divorced are offered the Sacraments of the Church; without pre-conditions, such as annulments.
We believe in the sanctity of the Sacrament of Marriage as being between "one man and one woman". Therefore, we do not Officiate, or condone, same-sex unions. We believe that homosexuality is a grave sin.
We believe that abortion and euthanasia are the unlawful taking of a human life under the Sixth Commandment: “Thou shalt not murder”.
We believe that contraception is a personal decision between a husband and a wife, within the confines of their marriage.
